Editor’s Foreword
The second and last part of Sassoli de Bianchi's article on 'science, reality and the consciousness' begins this volume. Continuing in the style of a Socratic dialogue between lecturer and student, the article expands the discussion to include vital topics such as existence, personal reality and personal experience, creation and discovery, time, and other relevant themes of Conscientiology and science in general.
The new schooling concept created and experienced by the Portuguese educational institution Escola da Ponte is the topic of Gisélle Razera's article. Razera explores how it is possible for an instructor to perform the clarification task even in an environment that is not directly associated with a conscientiological educational approach. Being an instructor of conscientiology and also an instructor in conventional educational institutions, Razera establishes connections between Escola da Ponte's approach and the model adopted by the community of researchers in conscientiology.
Alexander Imich, a respected researcher of paranormal phenomena, shares with JofC readers a parateleportation event he witnessed. Now 104 years of age and having experienced a rich journey in this intraphysical life, which includes living in several countries and facing political and cultural challenges, Imich certainly maintains his feet on the ground and a modest attitude. In a meeting at his apartment in Manhattan, the editor of this journal and other IAC researchers had a pleasant exchange of ideas about the development of parapsychic research throughout the last several decades.
The 3-hour Waking Physical Immobility technique is the theme of this issue's personal account. Tatyana Ovcharova describes in engaging detail how she handled the anticipation of sitting absolutely immobile for 3 hours in a cushioned recliner. She relays her 'strategy' and feelings during the experiment and also reports interesting paraperceptions she had during the session.
We would also like to draw the readers' attention to the news about the Second International Symposium on Conscientiological Research, taking place in October 2008, published at the end of this volume. Consciousness researchers from different areas are welcome to submit their discussions or proposals on conscientiological research methodology and approaches to epistemology.

A Dialogue about Science, Reality and the Consciousness - Part II

ABSTRACT: This paper is the continuation and conclusion of a Socratic dialogue between a lecturer and a student, whose first part appeared in the previous issue of the JofC (Sassoli de Bianchi, 2007). In a non-technical style, the dialogue presents some elements for a general and operational description of reality. In this second part, the reader is introduced to concepts such as: separation, existence, possibility, personal reality and personal experience, creation and discovery, time, change and permanence, structure and complexity, distinction and connection, and many others as well. The role played by these concepts in our understanding of reality and the consciousness is explored.
SUMARIO: Este artículo es la continuación y conclusión de un diálogo Socrático entre un profesor y un alumno, cuya primera parte apareció en el número anterior del JofC (Sassoli de Bianchi, 2007). En un estilo no técnico, el diálogo presenta algunos elementos para una descripción general y operacional de la realidad. En esta segunda parte, el lector es introducido a conceptos tales como: separación, existencia, posibilidad, realidad personal y experiencia personal, creación y descubrimiento, tiempo, cambio y permanencia, estructura y complejidad, distinción y conexión, y también otros muchos. El papel desempeñado por estos conceptos en nuestro entendimiento de la realidad y la conciencia es examinado.
RESUMO: Este artigo é a continuação e conclusão do diálogo socrático entre professor e aluno, cuja primeira parte foi publicada na edição prévia do JofC (Sassoli de Bianchi, 2007). Escrito em estilo não técnico, o diálogo apresenta alguns elementos para a descrição geral e operacional da realidade. Nesta segunda parte, alguns conceitos serão introduzidos ao leitor. São eles: separação, existência, possibilidade, realidade pessoal e experiência pessoal, criação e descoberta, tempo, mudança e permanência, estrutura e complexidade, distinção e conexão, dentre outros. Será também explorado o papel destes conceitos na compreensão sobre realidade e consciência.
Massimiliano Sassoli de' Bianchi received his PhD in theoretical physics in 1995, from the Federal Institute of Technology, in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is the author of a number of research articles, published in international journals, mainly on problems of mathematical quantum scattering theory. In the period 1989-1991 he studied quantum mechanics at the Theoretical Physics Department of Geneva's University, within the group of C. Piron, one of the founders of the Geneva-Brussel's school of quantum physics.

SUMARIO: Este artículo aborda la oportunidad de desempeñar la tarea de clarificación o esclarecimiento - tares - por parte del docente en ambiente extraconcienciológico, en la condición de docente. Presenta el ejemplo de una escuela europea, "Escola da Ponte" , ubicada en una mesología de fuerte religiosidad que ha destacado en Congresos de Pedagogía en varios países por incentivar a sus alumnos a actuar como constructores de su conocimiento y divulgadores de sus descubrimientos. Se hace una analogía de esta escuela con el modelo de investigación adoptado por muchos investigadores de la Comunidad Concienciológica Cosmoética Internacional (CCCI) y se comparte la experiencia de esta autora como docente de Concienciología y también de Instituciones Materialistas, uniendo las técnicas, proponiendo la oportunidad de confluir aprendizajes, transformándolos en esclarecimiento para los alumnos.

ABSTRACT: This article focuses on an opportunity to perform the clarification task by instructors who are active in extraconscientiological institutions. The example of Escola da Ponte is presented. Escola da Ponte is a school that was established in a region of deeply-embedded religiosity, yet it has received exposure in a number of Pedagogic Congresses in various countries for stimulating its students to perform as collaborators of the school's knowledge and disseminators of its findings. An analogy is made of this school with the research model adopted by many researchers at the International Cosmoethical Conscientiological Community (ICCC). The author shares her comments on her experience as both instructor of conscientiology and instructor of a materialist institution,where she tries to combine techniques and take advantage of opportunities to converge her teaching and her knowledge of both areas to deliver greater clarification to the students.

RESUMO: Este artigo aborda a oportunidade de desempenhar a tarefa do esclarecimento - tares - por parte do docente em ambiente extraconscienciológico, na condição de docente. Expõe o exemplo de escola européia, Escola da Ponte, inserida em mesologia de forte religiosidade que tem se destacado em Congressos de Pedagogia em vários países por incentivar seus alunos a atuarem como construtores do seu conhecimento e divulgadores das suas descobertas. Faz analogia desta escola com o modelo de pesquisa adotado por muitos pesquisadores da Comunidade Conscienciológica Cosmoética Internacional (CCCI) e comenta a experiência desta autora enquanto docente da Conscienciologia e de Instituições Materialistas, aliando as técnicas, propondo a oportunidade de confluir aprendizados, transformando-os em esclarecimento aos alunos.

Teleportation: A Case Study

ABSTRACT: This report describes the apparent teleportation of a known psychic and ectoplast, Dr. Safwat El Amin. The teleportation took place on October 31, 2006 in the author's apartment building in New York City. Two other apparent teleportations of Dr. Safwat El Amin occurred in 2006 and 2007, although they are not supported by the accounts of independent witnesses. Dr. El Amin has demonstrated paranormal capacities in the past, and was the subject of the author's report in JofC Volume 8, Number 30, which described apports of plant material, coins, bills, and various other objects.
SUMARIO: Este informe describe un aparente caso de teleportación del Dr. Safwat El Amin, un conocido psíquico ectoplasta. Esta teleportación se produjo el 31 de octubre de 2006, en el apartamento del autor en la ciudad de Nueva York. Otros dos casos de teleportación del Dr. Safwat El Amin tuvieron lugar en 2006 y 2007, a pesar de no existir relatos de testigos independientes para confirmar estos acontecimientos. El Dr. El Amin ya demostró poseer capacidades paranormales en el pasado, siendo sujeto del informe de este autor publicado en el número 30 del volumen 8 del JofC , donde se describe la materialización de material vegetal, monedas, billetes, y otros objetos.
RESUMO: Este relatório descreve o provável caso de teleportação de um conhecido parapsíquico e ectoplasta, Dr. Safwat El Amin. A teleportação aconteceu no dia 31 de outubro de 2006 no apartamento do autor em Nova Iorque. Dois outros aparentes casos de teleportação do Dr. Safwat El Amin ocorreram em 2006 e 2007, apesar de não haver registros de testemunhas independentes para comprovar os mesmos. Dr. El Amin já havia demonstrado capacidades paranormais no passado, e foi o sujeito da reportagem do autor no JofC Volume 8, número 30, onde descreveu materialização de material vegetal, dinheiro em moedas e notas, e outros objetos.
Alexander Imich, PhD , Founder and President of the Anomalous Phenomena Research Center, has been an investigator and writer on the paranormal for over seventy years. Dr. Imich's career was as a senior chemist, plant manager and chemical consultant in Poland, the USSR, Germany, France and the United States. Since retiring, he has devoted himself to fulltime research in parapsychology. He has sponsored 20 essay contests on the paranormal, each with a $1,000 award. He has published more than 100 articles, reports, and book reviews in Polish, Russian, Indian, German, British, and US periodicals, and he is the editor of the book Incredible Tales of the Paranormal. He was contributing editor to Chemical Abstracts and Psychological Abstracts, and is a contributing editor to Exceptional Human Experience.

An Experience in the Immobilitarium at the IAC Campus

Lab duration: 3 hours
This was my WPI session number 2 of a total of 3 scheduled for the VIP Training course. The first session had been quite difficult for me: I had fought to keep my eyes open, I had swallowed many times, my mind had jumped to different themes, my back was aching towards the end, and I had blinked compulsively.
I made myself comfortable in the armchair. My strategy for this session was different from the first one - I decided to count during the entire 3 hours. I had gotten this idea during a recent projection during which I had used counting together with the carbon-dioxide breathing technique to maintain lucidity during the hypnagogic state. My objective for this current session was two-fold: to maintain awareness of the exact passing of time, and to keep maximum lucidity.
I divided the time as follows:
- 3 hours of the sessios - 3hrs x 60min x 60 sec
- 60min x 60sec = 3600 which I divided into 10 counts of 360
(100 + 100 + 100 + 60)

Although at first this technique might look quite complicated, I would visualize this sequence one hour at a time floating in front of me against the white wall of the lab. I was surprised at just how easy it was for me to keep track of all these numbers - the highest number I had to remember was 100, and the rest was just visual in front of me - 1 through 10.
Aside from a very small number of short breaks, I counted non-stop. First I did the full sequence of the 1st hour (once a number from 1 - 10 had been counted with 360 per number, I would visually cross it off or make it drop/disappear). The 1st half of the 2nd hour was a bit more difficult for me, and so I decided to follow with the full sequence of the 3rd hour, counting down from 10 to 1 rather than from 1 to 10 as I had done previously. This seemed to trick my mind: counting down versus counting up made it easier mentally. I finally finished with 2nd half of the 2nd hour, counting down from 5 to 1.
Very often, when my mind would start drifting away, I would start skipping numbers e.g. from 20 to 30 to 40 instead of 20, 21, 22. I would also miss some individual numbers like 20, 21, 24 but my mind, being set on the timer, would focus straight away on the error, which would bring right back my lucidity and resulting mathematical order and sharpness to mentally correct the mistake.
In the beginning of the lab, I was feeling very hypnagogic with my eyes closing and my awareness drifting away. Often I had strong sensations of floating, but I kept to the instructions that my eyes were supposed to be open during the lab. I felt I could have left my body any time I wished, but I fought back to keep my eyes open. There were a few times when I would stop counting, just to let my mind rest, but I had a very keen sense of earth time and knew the interval of the count that I had missed, and would pick up the counting right at the next number. Also many times I would check: "Am I dreaming or am I awake?"
Whenever I would get a headache from counting I would exteriorize energy through the coronochakra. At times, I had a feeling of chest heaviness and would exteriorize through the cardiochakra, which would alleviate this pressure. I also had perceptions of energy flows through the frontochakra as well as the nuchalchakra.
During short periods of mental rest I experienced remote viewing of the construction site for the cosmoconsciousness lab. I saw the energy field around it in the round shape of the future physical roof (unlike the projectarium extraphysical structure, which I have seen in previous remote-viewing experiences and which was considerably bigger than the roof of the physical structure).
The energy field in its visual image reminded me of the fluid-like force-field in the Stargate, although the perceived composition was very different. This gate to the mentalsomatic dimension was a paratechnological vibratory filter. If the person managed to exit through the mentalsoma, his or her mentalsomatic vehicle of manifestation would go straight through it to the mentalsomatic dimension. If the person separated first through the psychosoma, the force-field would act as a magnet that would reject the psychosoma and pull in the mentalsoma: it was a type of extraphysical paratechnology that facilitated the separation of the two vehicles.
Besides the cosmoconsciousness lab, I also saw several extraphysical dome-like structures in the places of future construction sites for labs where no physical structures have yet been built. I had an understanding that instructors will get intuitions as to which labs should be built in the specific places where the extraphysical work has already begun.
In terms of energy sensations, at times I felt a very strong reception of energies through my palm chakras. I also felt the presence of helpers assisting me in this exercise, and I also perceived moving blue lights through my half-closed eyelids.
Conclusions: in the end, my count was 60 seconds behind the timing of the alarm clock. Using the counting technique was a tough but useful exercise for keeping lucidity at a maximum throughout the lab's long duration without moving. This intense focus helped me to avoid compulsive behaviors such as incessant eyelid movements and swallowing, with my body remaining immobile the entire time. In my opinion, the counting technique is a good tool for keeping lucidity during deep hypnagogic states - especially when falling asleep at the beginning of the night, as well as in the middle of the night when attempting projections at 3am to 4am).

The IAC invites you to submit your paper for the Second International Symposium on Conscientiological Research that will be held on October 18 and 19, 2008 at the IAC's research campus in the Alentejo region of Portugal.
The event has a significant role, as it is dedicated exclusively to addressing research methods, principles, practicalities, and epistemological themes related to the study of the consciousness in accordance with the consciential paradigm. The symposium will further the discussions established during the first event of its series realized in October 2005.
Any researcher, author, or philosopher of science is welcome to contribute her/his ideas during those discussions.
The symposium will unite individuals with a shared interest in debating, establishing and formalizing more advanced scientific principles that acknowledge non-physical reality and that are appropriate for research into complex multidimensional phenomena.
Speakers as well as researchers and participants with a multidisciplinary background will attend from numerous countries, each enriching the proceedings and debates during the symposium.

The scope of the symposium is broad, embracing all discussion regarding processes of consciousness research. Authors are invited to submit their papers via e-mail, sending the contribution directly to the IAC's Department of Research and Scientific Communication at science@iacworld.org.

La Academia Internacional de Conciencia le invita a enviar su trabajo para el Segundo Simposio Internacional sobre Investigación Concienciológica que tendrá lugar los días 18 y 19 de octubre de 2008 en Evoramonte, Portugal, en el campus de investigación de la IAC.
El evento tiene un significado importante, ya que está dedicado exclusivamente a tratar sobre el estudio de la conciencia bajo el paradigma consciencial - sus métodos de investigación, principios, prácticas y temas epistemológicos.
Investigadores, autores, estudiosos, o filósofos de la ciencia son bienvenidos a participar en las discusiones. El simposio reunirá a personas que comparten el mismo interés en debatir, establecer y formalizar principios científicos más avanzados. Principios que dan a conocer la realidad extrafísica y que son los apropiados para investigar la conciencia y los fenómenos multidimensionales complejos.
