Editors’ Foreword

In this issue, we are presenting numerous interesting major works and some equally engaging smaller works. Interestingly, the Personal Energetic Task technique (penta) is discussed in three contributions. Firstly we have Gross’ paper on a little-known therapy he called Extraphysical Kinesiotherapy, which was applied to himself during his penta sessions. Gross’ discussion furthers the reader’s knowledge on types of therapeutic assistance that can be rendered by extraphysical consciousnesses.

In addition, we have a contribution made by the Penta research group, based in IIPC’s head office, about the first six months of penta practice, as well as a personal account from Ana Jhaveri about her experience with penta.

The article on Concealment by Waldo Vieira is thought-provoking and of considerable value in helping the reader understand the many applications of the numerous types of personal and social concealment.

Maria E. Cunha has composed a helpful article that helps us to increase our awareness to use our time more effectively and overcome self-mimicry.

Finally, there is an interesting case study of projective phenomena that have occurred in the Chermont family. It is a valuable contribution because of the variety of phenomena observed, their diverse functions and the fact that many of the instances of paranormal activity were verified. This account was originally published in Spanish in the JC No. 7, and is being republished in English in response to many requests.

In this issue we also are publishing, for the first time, the Glossary of Conscientiology in Spanish. We hope this will support Spanish readers who are unfamiliar with conscientiological terms, as well as stimulate the debate of the ideas presented here and encourage new contributions to the Journal of Conscientiology.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the beginning of establishment of the International Academy of Conscientiology (IAC), which is being founded in Alentejo, Portugal. The land for the Academy has been selected and building of the structures is scheduled to begin this year. IAC promises to be a valuable component in the international expansion of the IIPC and in providing an environment purpose-built for self-research, growth and evolution in general.

ABSTRACT: Each instant of life is in the past there is no turning back: it is not possible to control time, according to our wishes. Time - in its more concrete conception, as dictated by the pointers of a clock - is present in all current or remote circumstances. However, in spite of being an intrinsic element in our daily life, sometimes we do not realize its importance in regards to our existence. Most individuals do not even have an idea of what they are supposed to accomplish on this planet, in this life. They live in the peculiar monotony of intraphysical life and many times these individuals experience a post-mortem anguish due to the painful verification that they wasted their time in life on selfish and unproductive actions. This work proposes reflections about numerous possibilities of making the most of time and suggests what to do to recover time lost to self-mimicry in order to make time our ally in evolution.

Compilation of psychic phenomena that has happened in my family

Selma de Chermont

For a long time, members of my family have experienced a variety of psychic phenomena. Here I will describe some of the most important.

Case No. 1: When my grandfather passed away in the 1930's, his brothers said that he had left as his only estate a house and a ranch. The women did not say anything. My aunt asked herself how it could have been possible for her father, who had been ill for such a long time, to have maintained such an opulent lifestyle. My grandfather heirs were his wife and their five children (two men and three women). One night my aunt had an out-of-body projection in which she encountered her father sitting at the head of a large meeting table. In this projection he told her the names of the three banks where he had money deposited that was to be an inheritance for his children. My mother asked a judge to freeze the three bank accounts. When the two brothers of my grandfather attempted to withdraw the money, they found the accounts frozen. Thanks to this projection my mother ensured the inheritance was protected and because of this two of my aunts and my mother were able to buy their homes.

Case No. 2: During the mid 1940's, the aunt who had the projection detailed in Case No. 1, was married to a physician and she had developed a case of appendicitis but steadfastly refused to be operated on. My aunt prayed a lot for her recuperation. One day, she had an out-of-body projection in which she met a very tall man who was wearing a white linen suit. He had a goatee and his face had been scarred by chicken pox. He said to her: "My daughter, I will operate on you".
When she woke up, she called for her husband and asked him to press her on the site where the appendix is located. She had no more pain and her husband could not believe what had happened. He took her to another doctor who confirmed that she no longer suffered from the infection. My aunt later told this story to her mother-in-law, at which point she (her mother-in-law) started to cry because the extraphysical consciousness that had operated on my aunt was her deceased husband, the father-in-law of my aunt, who had been a great physician but who had passed away when he was very young. Because they lived in a very small town in the countryside near Espirito Santo, Brazil, they did not have a picture of him; therefore, my aunt never knew what her father-in-law looked like.

Case No. 3: During the mid 1950's, my aunt was in the hospital accompanying her husband who was ill. During that time, her mother passed away but her children did not want to tell her this news. My aunt told them: "You do not need to conceal this from me because I know what has happened. I had been praying and saw an image of my mother telling me that she had passed on."

Case No. 4: Also during the 1950's, my aunt's husband died. A lawyer, who had been a friend of the family for many years, was named Executor of the estate. After some time, my aunt had a series of out-of-body projections on three consecutive nights. In those projections her husband (now an extraphysical consciousness) asked her to go to the Bank of Brazil to see how much money was left in his savings account. Upon going to the bank she confirmed that there was no money. Another lawyer was subsequently hired to investigate the situation and put pressure on the family lawyer (who was supposedly a friend) to explain what had happened. Because of these projections my Aunt was able to recover some things, otherwise she would have lost everything.

Case No. 5: In 1990, when my daughter was 14 years old, she suffered a foot injury and passed out in the bathroom. While she observed calmly her body on the floor, she heard "someone" telling her that if she would pass through the ceiling she would not be able to return to her body. The voice asked her if she wanted to return to her body. She thought "I'm still too young to die" and then she immediately returned to her body. Now she knows that this experience was a forced projection. At 15 years of age she had her first lucid projection and continues to have them as well as pursuing the development of clairaudience.

Case No.6: Earlier in the year 2000, I was holding a party at home for some friends. One of my friends was talking about a problem her son had. My daughter moved closer to her and asked: "Was your father 1.65m tall, always well-dressed, with graying hair and a somewhat receding hairline? My friend was very impressed with the question but answered that this was not the description of her father but of her grandfather. Her grandfather had, however, said to my daughter that he was my friend's father. Hearing this, my friend explained: "My grandfather adopted me as a daughter since I got along better with him than with my real father. As a matter of fact I used to call him The Big Daddy".
My daughter said he had stated that he was there and available to help my friend.

Case No.7: In 1991, my nephew was five years old when he had a clear retrocognition. On a certain day he was at the dinner table with his parents and with a strange gaze he looked at them and said: "Today you are my father and mother. Today I am blonde and wealthy but before, I was black and poor and I used to live in old Bracui." Bracui is a town near Angra dos Reis, in Rio de Janeiro, where the slaves worked in a sugar cane plantation. Today indigenous people still live there.

My nephew continued saying: "My mother's name was Maria Jose and my father wore bangs and long hair in the back." He also said that his mother was black and that his father was an Indian, as he described him. He continued: "I used to play with toy cars". His father asked, "Plastic toy cars?"
With a strange look on his face the boy responded: "No, daddy. At that time there was no plastic. These were toy cars made of tin".
His mother asked: "At what age did you leave?" He gestured with his hands his height, it was approximately 12 years old.
"What about us? For how long have we been here?" he asked his mother. He said then: "You live here now, but I've been living here for a long time".

Case No. 8: When my nephew was eight years old he used to play videogames by himself in our country home which was previously owned by my parents who had since passed away. One day our house maid asked my nephew: "Aren't you afraid of being by yourself in that house?", to which he answered: "No, I'm not. My grandmother and grandfather are there with me". During several times now he has seen in that house the extraphysical consciousnesses of his grandparents. The last vision he had was in 1998 when he was 12 years old. He saw his grandfather lying on a table surrounded by a white mist, looking fixedly at the videogame his grandson was playing on.

Editor's Comment: The accounts herein presented are useful as basis for the study of general psychic occurrences and the hypothesis of the relationship between paranormal experimentation and genetic predisposition.

The stories are interesting because the intraphysical events were confirmed.

These accounts also contribute to dispel the notion that in order to have these experiences it is necessary to be involved in the study of the paranormal. For example, the author's aunt did not have any specific knowledge about the phenomena she was experiencing; yet, she has had several out-of-body experiences throughout her lifetime.

In the case of the author's daughter, who had a near-death experience, we noted a characteristic typical of this type of experience, which is that the person tends to become psychic-prone. According to the author, her daughter began having out-of-body projections more regularly as well as clairaudience and clairvoyance.

It is also observable in this selection of accounts the phenomena of infantile retrocognition. There are speculations that children are more predisposed to have recollections of past lives and several researchers are currently studying this topic.
